Match Report
Leicester Grammar School Boys-U12A vs  Stamford
On: Saturday, 09 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

On Saturday 9th September Leicester Grammar School U12s played their first match of the season against a very well organised and experienced Stamford team. It was the first time many of our team had played rugby and soon everyone discovered the passion and intensity of the game. Stamford scored a try after quickly scrummaging and ball handling into the corner, followed by another try very quickly. Great handling by Ollie Dunford and tackling by Zach Conneely helped save a number of tries from the experienced Stamford side. During the course of the match our team gained confidence and started to move the ball well. Stamford scored six more tries with the final score being 40-0. We had great performances from Otto Jozsa, Oscar Considine and Zach Laurenti but the side stepping from Thomas Lord that nearly resulted in a try, was the move of the game. Bearing in mind it was the first time many had stepped onto a rugby pitch, the skill, passion and teamwork gives great confidence for the forthcoming season. Thank you to the PE department and Mr. Potter for organising the match.
