Match Report
Leicester Grammar School Girls-U13A vs  Princethorpe College
On: Thursday, 05 Oct 2017
Venue: at Home

On Thursday 5th October, the Leicester Grammar U13 girls A team played in a hockey fixture against Princethorpe school. The first half started well and we managed to score an early goal with some great assists in midfield. Sophie, Elena and Emma worked together well and ensured another ball was hit in the back of the goal. Kiran, Nya and Tara were great as forwards as they were able to get high and ensure the midfield had enough space to move the ball around. Even with some great defending from Keira, Liana and myself and our goalie Micha, we unfortunately conceded one goal. By the end of the first half the score was 2-1 to us. We went into the second half knowing what we had to do and we were able to assist each other, therefore allowing Sophie to come and score 2 goals. In our D, we gave them a couple of short-corners however they did not manage to score with some great running and some excellent saves. For this reason Micha was made player of the match. Before the whistle blew Tara was able to extend our lead by putting another ball in the goal. The defence were strong and got better throughout the game at distributing the ball into midfield. The end result was 5-1 to us. It was a great game in which we all tried really hard. Thank you very much to Mrs Hutchinson for being our coach.
