Director of Rugby report - 22nd Sept

It has been a positive week for Senior Rugby at LGS. The Schools Vase’ and 2nd XV fixtures v Welbeck saw two narrow victories away from home as partnerships continue to develop and unit skills improve. The weekend block against Princethorpe was a huge test for our Junior sides; all 3 home games saw convincing wins for the opposition but many positives came from the experience. In the U14s, some big carries from the forwards and dangerous running from Rhodes and Robinson created chances. The U13s put up a brave fight despite missing several key players, and the U12s showed real promise in their first competitive fixture. Away both 1st and 2nd XVs ground out wins with the latter fixture being disrupted by a major injury to Ali Arshad, who we all wish well in his recovery. Oli Walls and Harry Hey made major contributions whilst the U15s again showed great spirit in defeat. We look forward to our block fixture against Bablake on Saturday, and our Good To Great players are reminded about their Leicester Tigers training session tomorrow.
